‘Overpriced food’ in Virgin island goes viral; Panglao mayor orders investigation to check food prices
The local government of Panglao, Bohol became aware of the viral post of a netizen named “Vilma Uy” after she shared on social media the outrageous bill for the seafood they ordered at a resort while on vacation in the Virgin Islands.
In this viral Facebook post by Vilma, she expressed shock when the total price of the food for their lunch reached ₱26,100 when they visited the island.
Virgin Island is one of the islands that are often visited by tourists who want to do island hopping in Bohol because of its clear water and white sands.
“Ingon ani na diay kamahal ang pagkaon sa virgin island, bohol? Just airing the sentiments of my friend who recently enjoying their vacation in bohol pero na shock sila sa ila bill, mahal pa sa buffet sa HENNAN resort. pls note : 13 pax cla lahat,” she said in her FB post.
The most expensive ones are oysters, kilaw fish, and scallops worth ₱3,000. They reporttedly calmed down and even haggled over the price but eventually paid just the same.
They did not say if they asked the seller beforehand how much the price of each order was.
Netizens also questioned why their bill was listed only on ordinary paper. Some also said that their food is even more expensive than in the hotel.
Bohol Governor Aris Aumentado ordered to investigate the report of this alleged overpricing. According to the governor’s Facebook post, local officials of Panglao and owners of the resorts will meet regarding the controversy.
“Inutusan na natin ang SP na magsagawa ng imbestigasyon sa pangyayari at pagkakataon na rin ito upang makabuo tayo ng isang resolution or ordinance na makakapagbigay ng proteksyon sa ating mga turista,” Aris said.
“Dahil matagal nang panahon na may iilang negosyante ang nananamantala sa mga turista ng Panglao,” he added.
Meanwhile, a netizen shared a list (breakdown) shared by a netizen Ayaw Pataka, apparently, of the quantity of the food the group ordered. “Sa subrang dami ba naman ng inorder nila. Tira tia na lang ang pinost,” Nancy Bataleran expressed on the screenshot she shared.
FB page, Camp Review Philippines, shared a video showing the selling of seafood, as well as drinks and buko, in the Virgin islands.

After a celebrity lookalike from Monkayo went viral on social media, netizens wondered what would happen next. It didn’t take long to find out.
A Jericho Rosales Lookalike
On Facebook, social media user Hyobz Perez uploaded some photos of him and a few friends with a Jericho Rosales lookalike, plus a solo of the guy whom they saw as he was strolling at an amusement park in Monkayo, Davao de Oro.
He said in the caption of his post,“Sir Bhai with Kuys Echo ng Monkayo, Davao de Oro,”
Apparently, their group’s attention was captured as the guy in the park would instantly bring to your mind the lead actor of the teleserye “Halik” which was a huge hit to TV viewers. A “Kuya Echo”lookalike indeed as narrated by another netizen who disclosed they were neighbors.
Netizens commented on the post that went viral; with some even joking and tagging the actor so the latter would know he has a “twin brother” in Davao.
Netizens also tagged the award-winning magazine show of GMA Network, “Kapuso Mo, Jessica Soho” or KMJS.

Just a few days after, netizens were caught by surprise over another post that relates to Kuya Echo’s lookalike.

“God has always full of surprises!! We did not have any idea for Yesterday’s shoot. We were just told by the company that we will be doing a product endorsement shoot.
“On the location site we were surprised when the owner of the company told us that their product model endorser is actor Jericho Rosales look alike who is trending in social media.”
The post of Bryan Jay Photography includes two photos of “Junrey Baug”, the viral lookalike of Kuya Echo! Reports say his endorsement is for a cafe shop.
First Interview
To note, after going viral, Junrey was interviewed and given a makeover by “Pitik ni DenDen”, a vlogger from Compostela.
The 29-year-old Jericho lookalike is a construction worker with a wife and son. Up close and personal, the team of Denden exclaimed he really looks like Echo, especially when he smiles. His height, his built, his nose – he’s like a twin brother of Echo.
“Lutang na lutang ang pagka-Jericho Rosales nito,” netizens have reacted.

‘Ride safe!’ Duterte ine-enjoy ang pamamasyal nang nakamotorsiklo, pakikihalubilo sa mga tao

Ngayong pribado nang mamamayan ang dating pangulo ng bansa, ibinida ni Senador Bong Go sa isang Facebook post ang masayang pamamasyal ni Rodrigo R. Duterte sa Davao City gamit ang kanyang motorsiklo.
Ayon sa Senador na kilalang kaibigan at avid supporter ni Duterte, muling nagmomotorsiklo ang dating pangulo at alkalde ng kanilang bayan.
Aniya sa post, “Na-miss ni Tatay Digong ang mamasyal gamit ang kaniyang motor tulad ng ginagawa niya noon bilang alkalde.”
Gaya ng mga lumabas na kuwento noong mayor pa ito, kung saan sinasabing kahit madaling araw ay naglilibot ito sa Davao upang personal na makita ang kalagayan ng kapaligiran, ngayong private citizen na ito ay nais pa rin nitong maglibot-libot doon.
“Ngayon na pribadong mamamayan na siya, hindi niya matiis na hindi mag-ikot at pumasyal kahit na madaling araw na. Nakihalubilo rin siya sa mga sundalo, pulis at security guards na kanyang nadaanan at niyaya silang kumain ng durian,” dagdag pa ni Sen Go.
Ang kanya namang bilin dito, “Ride safe Mayor Rody!”
Bumuhos naman ang komento ng mga netizens sa post ni Sen. Go kung saan ay mahihinuha na mga suppoters ito ng dating administrasyon.

Iniaalay niya rin para sa kaniyang lolo at pumanaw na lola ang pagsali niya sa Bb. Pilipinas dahil sila raw ang inspirasyon niya.
