Isang Miss England 2022 candidate ang gumagamit ng pageant platform para hamunin ang beauty standards.

Nakapasok sa finals ng Miss England ang dalawampung taong gulang na estudyante ng Political Science na si Melisa Raouf, at gumawa ng kasaysayan bilang unang kalahok na lumaban nang walang makeup.

Nauna nang naglunsad ang mga organizer ng makeup-free modelling round noong 2019, kung saan kailangang mag-post ang mga contestant nang walang make-up at mag-selfie sa social media.

Gayunpaman, si Melisa ang unang kandidata sa 94-taong kasaysayan ng pageant na ganap na makipagkumpetensya nang hindi gumagamit ng mga pampaganda.

Sinabi ng taga-London sa isang panayam ng Independent na gusto niyang hamunin ang beauty standards at isulong ang tunay na kagandahan mula sa loob.

“It means a lot to me as I feel many girls of different ages wear makeup because they feel pressured to do so,” sinabi ni Melisa sa publikasyon.

“If one is happy in their own skin, we should not be made to cover up our face with makeup. Our flaws make us who we are and that’s what makes every individual unique. I think people should love and embrace their flaws and blemishes, as we know real beauty lies within simplicity,” dagdag pa niya.

Sinabi rin ng aspiring beauty queen na nagsimula siyang mag-makeup sa murang edad ngunit “never feel (to have) meet beauty standards.”

Aniya, “I have recently accepted that I am beautiful in my own skin and that’s why I decided to compete with no make-up. I still feel confident in myself, with makeup I’m all concealed. This is who I am, I’m not afraid to share who I am. I wanted to show who Melisa truly is.”

Idinagdag ni Melisa na nagpapasalamat siya sa pagmamahal at suporta mula sa ibang mga kababaihan na nagsasabing nakatulong siya sa kanila na maging mas may kumpiyansa sa kanilang sarili.

“With mental health being such a big topic, I want to make all girls feel good. I just want to remove all the beauty standards. I feel like all girls are beautiful in their own way. I feel like I’ve done it for all girls.”

Kasama ang 40 pang beauty queens, sasabak si Melisa para sa titulong Miss England, kung saan ang koronasyon ay magaganap sa Oktubre.

Dermatologist and television personality, as well as founder, CEO, and medical director of Belo Medical Group, Dr. Vicki Belo, shared on her Instagram account a video of young actress Andrea Brillantes when the later visited her clinic.

In the video, Andrea – Anndrew Blythe Daguio Gorostiza in real life – shared that she’s there at the Belo clinic for some treatment called the #BeloOndaPlus.

She revealed that she had been consuming a lot of chocolates and her upper arms has accumulated excess fat. She has an upcoming shoot so she revealed she’s got to try to have that excess ‘wings’ removed or minimized through the Onda Plus.

“Nandito ako ngayon sa Belo kasi kakakain ko ng chocolates lumaki na ang aking mga braso at meron akong papalapit na shoot kaya ita-try ko ang Onda PLus at  excited na akong i-try kasi palipad na ako eh. Let’s go!” Andrea excitedly shared.

Doc Vicki briefly explains in the video how the process is done while having the young actress as ‘model.’

She said they measure fat in the arms using a caliper to measure fat loss accurately. She further discloses that Belo ONda PLus has three functions: 1-Microwave energy delivered deep into the fat tissue to melt fat; 2-Superficial delivery of microwave energy to tighten skin, and lastly, Lymphatic drainage to get rid of the melted fat.

At the end of the video, Doc Vicki showed a ‘before and after’ treatment photos of Andrea’s arms. Though the reduction of fats may not seem very visible to the naked eye, the tightening of the skin (step 2) is probably what can’t be easily seen.

Andrea is obviously satisfied.

Ayon kay Ivana, bata pa lamang daw siya ay hilig at pangarap na daw niya ang beauty products, kaya ngayon ay natupad na niya ang kanyang pangarap na magkaroon ng sariling skin care products, ang ‘Ivana Skin’ at kasalukuyan naman siyang CEO dito.

Kuwento ni Ivana, tatlong taon n aang nakararaan nang mag-umpisa siyang sumubok na bumuo ng skin care formula. Sa pamilya at mga kaibigan niya ito unang pinasubok. Kalaunan, nang maganda ang naging resulta ng kanyang produkto, ay inilunsad na niya ito.

Halos tutok daw si Ivana sa bawat detalye ng kanyang produkto; sa packaging, ingredients, formula, logo at iba pa.

“Hindi siya madali, it took really a long process but it’s a process that I’m proud of,” saad ni Ivana.

Aniya ay bukas din ito sa mga resellers at distributors. Naikuwento din ni Ivana na minsan na rin siyang naging isang online seller. Mga damit ang ibinebenta niya noon at ang kanyang ate Amira pa ang ginagawa niyang modelo.

“Meron akong kwento sa inyo na very very quick lang. So isa akong online seller dati. Naging malapit talaga sa puso ko ang mga online sellers. Nagbebenta ako ng mga damit, so I really wanted to open this business to other online sellers para mabigyan din ng chance na kumita,” aniya.

“I don’t look at it as resellers or distributors, I call it part of the family, part kayo ng Ivana Skin family and you are a part of our family,” pahayag ni Ivana.

Ito ay dahil malalapit daw ang mga ito sa kanyang puso dahil naranasan niyang maging tulad ng mga ito.

Todo naman ang suporta ng kanyang pamilya sa kanyang narating kung saan lahat ng pamilya niya ay sumubok sa produkto ni Ivana upang masiguro na maganda ang resulta ng mga ito.
